Every family reads and signs our puppy contract before paying a deposit. This page explains it in everyday words. If anything here is unclear, ask us and we will walk you through it.
Before your puppy leaves us
- Vet exam. Our veterinarian examines every puppy within a few days of going home and signs a health certificate.
- Vaccines. Age-appropriate shots are given and recorded, with a printed schedule for the rest.
- Deworming. On a regular schedule from two weeks old, all written down for your vet.
- Microchip. Implanted and registered to you.
- Feeding plan. Small puppies can get low blood sugar, so you get our exact feeding routine and enough food to switch over slowly.
- Age. No puppy leaves before 8 weeks. Smaller puppies may stay longer.
The parents
Our adult Yorkies are health screened before they are bred. Depending on the dog, that includes knee (patella) evaluations, eye exams, liver bile acid testing and a DNA panel. We share every result with you before you reserve.
What the guarantee covers
- Life-threatening hereditary or congenital conditions, for the number of years written in your contract.
- A window of 72 hours to have your own vet examine your puppy. If your vet finds a serious problem, we will make it right.
- Lifetime take-back. If you ever cannot keep your dog, at any age and for any reason, it comes back to us. Never to a shelter or a stranger.
- Lifetime support. Call or text us with questions for the whole of your dog’s life.
What we ask of you
- Take your puppy to your own vet within 72 hours.
- Keep up with vaccines, parasite prevention and yearly checkups.
- Feed a good quality food and follow the feeding plan while your puppy is small.
- Use a harness rather than a collar for walks, to protect the windpipe.
Deposits and refunds
We only take a deposit after you have met your puppy, in person or on a live video call, and read the contract. The deposit comes off the final price. Refund and transfer terms are written into the contract so you know them before you pay.
A word about scams
Puppy scams are sadly common. Protect yourself with any breeder: talk on the phone, see the puppy live on video, visit if you can, read a real contract, and never pay by gift card. We are always happy to do all of these.
